Unbelievable, at least nine out of ten of the ultrasound vendors cannot provide ultrasound machines with full network connectivity despite saying they can...
Yes, you've read right! Check the biggest ultrasound vendors like Siemens, GE, Toshiba, Philips, Hitachi, and so on. One of their sales arguments is providing a better work-flow through network connectivity.
My question to you is does it really work? Can you connect the ultrasound equipment without any special software or options to your computer network? ... The answer is NO.
And can you export your ultrasound images directly to your computer network by just using a simple TCP/IP protocol, and no other extra costly software? The answer is also NO.
No this is not possible! That is incredible given that we are living in the computer era.Read the whole report on www.ultrasound4u.com and discover more about network connections in the ultrasound diagnostic field.
Yes, connecting your ultrasound with your office computer network is a delicate question that most of today's ultrasound vendors cannot fulfill unless you buy a DICOM License software for your ultrasound unit and compatible software for your computer. DICOM is a special software license and is a dedicated format to transfer images and data in your computer network or server. This is mainly used when working in a hospital, or clinic environment, where a PACS server is installed. But what if you don't have a PACS server? What if you work in your private doctor's office with a network of 2 or 3 computers? You have no PACS system and want to have a better workflow with your ultrasound exams. You want to transfer your images and reports to be ready to print, send and archive with a few mouse clicks? Unfortunately, you can't!
The good news!
As I know, today, only one ultrasoundvendor thought about this, and provides a very wide range of very good quality ultrasound equipment, already prepared for full network connectivity.
Just by programming the TCP protocol, and connecting your ultrasound equipment to your computer or server, you are able to export automatically all your exams. This is true if you use a PC or a Mac, and without any costly software or option. This takes only one push button!
